The Art of Entertaining: The Best Tasting Deal in Town

The Wine Bar Welcomes Guests
The Art of Entertaining in O’Bryonville currently offers a great deal on Friday nights.  For $25 per person by reserving ahead or $30 walking in the door, patrons receive tokens for six samples – either glasses of wine on offer that night or any of the enormous selection of beers or a combination.  The wines were both white and red the night we were fortunate enough to be treated and from American and European vineyards.  The beers included some of the best microbrews available.

The 7-Course Meal
is Served Buffet Style
That information should get most people in the door, but it’s the food that we found to be the greatest enticement.  The menu changes weekly as I
learned from a friend of ours who went on a different Friday with his wife.  The night we went there were two appetizers – salmon salad on toast points and lamb and Gouda empanadas with caramelized onions and a roasted red pepper dipping sauce.

Creamy Chicken and Orzo Soup

The soup was creamy chicken and orzo with lemon and thyme and it could have been a meal in itself.  The mixed green salad had grilled corn, red onion, blue cheese, and an avocado dressing.

Smoked Apple Grits with Braised Pork
Rosemary Chicken and Linguine

Two entrées followed – braised pork, bacon jus, and smoked apple grits and rosemary chicken with linguine in a Gorgonzola cream sauce.  Dessert, which was pretty terrific, consisted of a hot goat cheese filled donut with a spiced apple compote and chocolate sauce.  It’s an adventurous menu to say the least.

The Art of Entertaining is regularly a wine and beer shop with various accessories for parties.  They're also event planners and theme party specialists.  Some of us fondly remember when Chateau Pomije occupied the space.  Let’s hope The Art of Entertaining remains there for a long tenure.

I would love to hang out on their deck some Friday night...hint, hint!
